Vivian Akorley

The Late Asafohemaa Adzoa Akorliwaa II was known in private life as Vivian Comfort Akorley affectionately called Mother's Inn, was born on 2nd day of October, 1939 at Likpe-Mate to Orlor Mathew Kodzo Akorley, a farmer and Madam Paulina Akosua Owusu, a trader, both of blessed memory.
Started her primary education in 1948 at Likpe-Mate Roman Catholic Primary School and completed her middle school education in 1959 at Hohoe Kledzo Middle School. She showed perseverance in her school work and was among the few privileged ones who gained admission into St. Francis Teacher Training College now College of Education in Hohoe. She had two years training and qualified as a Certificate 'B' teacher. She was posted to Nogokpo L.A. Middle School where she taught for some years. She then proceeded to Government Teacher Training College now College of Education at Peki for a top up and became a Certificate 'A' Teacher.
After completion, she was posted to Ho Bankoe Roman Catholic Boys School where she taught for several years and later transferred to Dome Roman Catholic School at Dome. Whilst teaching, she started trading in shirts, trouser materials, belts and other trending items of which her colleague teachers bought and paid by monthly installments to supplement her salary. She did the trading during her private time and also prepared food for sale since the school was running shift. Her hospitality, excellent customer service and best reception to her customers made them to repeat their visits. This developed into family friendship with a number of the customers. As she noticed her private business was growing steadily and profitable than the teaching, she went on voluntary retirement from Ghana Education Service and concentrated on full-time business.
She set up a restaurant named 'MOTHER'S INN' at Workers Estate at Ahoe, Ho which earned her the name MOTHER'S INN. She also ventured into timber business whereby she travelled to the now Oti Region to buy timber, yam and other items for sale at Ahoe market.
In December, 1999, she was enstooled as Asafohemaa at Likpe - Abrani her hometown to succeed her late grandmother and named Nana Adzoa Akorliwaa II. She had the love for humanity and had the passion for helping those in trouble and in need. She was committed to her nuclear family and extended same interest to her brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, indeed the entire family. She maintained interest in all events in her hometown and this was evidenced by her frequent visit, not only Likpe - Abrani but the entire traditional area at the least opportunity, to attend funerals, festivals and other events.
She built a Guest House at Likpe - Abrani which is still operational as at today. Also, of late, she bought motorbikes and leased out to riders to operate in Ho.
As she aged, her health condition was deteriorating and was visiting medical facilities for checkups.
She relaxed and shared her vast experience with loved ones. On 7th March, 2024, she complained of ill health and was sent to a medical facility as usual but to the surprise of the family, her maker called her to rest peacefully with him.
She left behind six children, and Grandchildren.
